Motorcycle Ride Layout

Thank you so much for visiting my space in time on the blogsphere.

For this sketch I wanted to keep it simple. To just let the greens and reds in the photo stand out. I had some motorcycle themed stickers in my stash so I grabbed them for this layout. Although it's simple I think the combinations of colors, paper patterns and placement pull it all together and make it work. I hope you enjoy and are inspired.

Gummie Cake

Thank you so much for visiting my space in time on the blogsphere. Today I had to post the cake I made for my daughters party last night. My daughter asked for a Gummie theme birthday and this was the cake I decided upon. I picked up the 3D cake pan at my local library (Somerset) I'm very lucky that my library has a nice collection to check out. She asked for the color green and then I decided to add the Gummies for the base. Simple cake but gets the job done for the kiddos.

So take a moment to leave a comment on this post or any others on my blog. I'd love to hear from you! Don't forget! Now it;'s your turn, go make something beautiful today!

My Minds Eye Quite Contrary 6x6 pad Cards

So I was in a card making mood during my vacation time and wanted to make a few cards using the same pad stack. All of these cards use the same bazill card stock colors to complement. I discovered it was best to buy about 4 sheets of a few coordinating card stock colors when I buy the pad so when I'm ready to card make i have everything I need. I even recently went through my embellishment stash and picked out a few things that would complement each 6 x 6 pad I have (I have about 5) and clipped it to the card stock for inspiration and easy finding.

Wilton 4 course display

I'm doing a demonstration today for Wilton industries to promote my cake decorating classes. I decided to make up a storyboard to display some og the cakes I've made over the years using the techniques from each course. I finally finished an just in time. I will be heading out in a few hours for the demo.

Sister's Lemon Birthday Cake

My twin sister and my birthday was almost 3 or so weeks ago but my family has been so busy we've not had time to celebrate. The entire family is going out for lunch and then back to my house for dessert. I made this cake this morning in honor of my sister's birthday.
I used lemon cake from scratch, lemon buttercream, a pale yellow color for the base frosting and then various golden yellow and white flowers to decorate and of course the purple sentiment.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I love to see your comments. Don't forget, go make something beautiful!

Course 1 Cake

This is sample cake of some of the techniques I teach for the Wilton Cake decorating Course 1.
Hey, just a heads up. I just got an email that Michaels craft store is having a special promotion. You can sign up for the course 1- 4 week classes this Saturday only (April 13, 2013) for $10.00! I happen to be starting a course 1 for April 23rd. So if you've been thinking about learning to do some basic cake decorating this is the time to do it!

On this cake, I used a star border on top and bottom (I used some swirl drop flowers along the bottom of the cake), ribbon roses, swirl drop flowers and leaves and finally some print writing for the sentiment.

OWH Sketch 166

For this sketch i choose a pink and brown color combination. I replaced the 3 circle element with a dimensional sticker I had in my stash. I also added some bling. The gold floral is embossed and the sentiment is stamped with brown ink. I still feel something is missing. Have any ideas how to improve this card. Please tell me.

Sympathy cards

Unfortunately I needed to make a few sympathy cards for friends. I just feel like I can't find the right words.

A few cakes

So I've been teaching this technique for a while but never made a full cake using only this flower so i figured since I had some time off from my cake classes I would make a few cakes. I mixed blues and pinks of light and dark shades and then iced the sides with a basket weave.

This cake for was for my father in-law. I wanted to do pretty cake but using masculine colors. I used light and dark blue pansies and wild roses. I swirled the icing rather than iced the cake smooth.

This was my attempt at making a St. Patty's day cake. Uggh! I made the shamrock too big and once I got started with the wording I realized I ran out of room. Oh well, it tasted really good. At least with cake mistakes you can eat them and they taste just as good. :-) I used the star fill-in and the rosettes for the border. I used a cookie cutter pressed into the cake as a line tracing for the shamrock.

I made this cake for a client of mine who had been generous to me. It was just before Easter, so I choose to use some spring floral. On this cake, I used the Reverse Shell, Swiss Dots, pink and white Pansies, purple Wild Roses, purple Violets, pink Primroses and some Swirl Drop flowers.

I am hoping to make a few more cakes just for fun when the time allows. Hopefully it won't be too long before I pick up a decorating bag again! lol
