Thanksgiving Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving! I am enjoying the time with family and lots and lots, well too much (lol) of food! I hope you'll have a blessed holiday. I am very thankful for every blessing this year and hopeful for the many coming with the warm Christmas holidays and new year.
I used Authentique:Thankful patterned 6x6 Paper pad. I just love the simplicity of this sketch so that the fall colors of the paper and the classic font of the sentiment shine through.

Enjoy your turkey and all the trimmings! Take some time during this upcoming crazy shopping season to make something beautiful!

Card Making Monday # 23 - Best Leather Wishes

Hello all for another exciting week! This week showcases an embellishment I was just longing to use. I picked up this flower embellishment as a 2 pack from Michaels on clearence!

I used Cowboy Up! 6x6 patterned paper pad and quicksand bazill cardstock. The sebtiment was embossed with inking up the inside of the embossing folder with ink and my brayer.

I wanted the design to be simple to showcase the embellishement. I like the distressed look of the inking on the textured cardstock complimenting the embellishment.

Have a wonderful week and try to make time for yourself to create something beautiful!

613 Create Challenge Card-Cowboy Chaps

Hello fellow bloggers, visitors, and friends! Welcome to another Sunday challenge post for  613 Avenue Create Challenge blog!

Today I'm very lucky to showcase a card using a Digi image by our sponsor Bugaboo Stamps called Cowboy Chaps. I added some stitching to my card for some texture. You can find tips and strategies for adding stitching to your cards here. You can also find more tutorials under my tutorial tab here.

For this challenge, the design team was asked to "Create Your Own Challenge" using some elements from the chart below. This is my card.

I wanted to add some texture and interest to the card with out taking away from the fabulous image. So I added some bling using silver glitter glue and then sealed them in with some glossy accents so the belt buckle felt smooth. I also added the twine lasso for a fun element.

Check out the other items I chose from the chart.
                                             #1- image, sentiment, patterned paper
                                             #2 - any sketch
                                             #3 - glossy accents
                                             #4 - bling
                                             #5 - twine, stitching

I was inspired by this Operation Write Home sketch. You can find more OWH sketches here.

Scrapbook Saturday # 20 - Friends Fur-ever

Another Saturday posting and I'm so glad your here! This is a fun page. My daughter has taken to giving the cat rides in her baby doll carriage. The cat actually enjoys it. lol
This is a simple layout, not much patterned paper, just some scraps. The mouse and cat were cut from Create A Critter Cricut cartridge. I also had some little kitty stickers to add under the title.

For the kitten collar, I added a little pearl brad to the bow tie.

Have a great day and please remember to leave a comment and consider making something beautiful for yourself today!

White on White Christmas Card

Hello friends. To help get in the Christmas spirit I decided to sit down and make a card. For this card I used a simple design but including some dry embossing, a ribbon and button and a little bit of bling in the form of glitter. i popped up a smaller piece of the card base on top of a larger one and popped up the sentiment flag.

Here's a close up of the glitter and pearl pen I used on some of the embossing. I used Cuttlebug folder Christmas Wreath.

I hope you enjoyed my card and tale some time for yourself and make something beautiful.

Scrapbook Saturday # 19 - Land of Learning

Welcome! Welcome to another Saturday posting. Todays post is a one page layout. Again, I'm so behnd on my kids photos. Actually, I just started scrapbooking about 3 years ago and so I've had alot to catch up and keep up on. I've been keeping preset with current events and then going back when I have a little time and scrapbooking the kids earlier photos. Hopfully one day I'll be all caught up and I can work on something for me. I'd like to leave my children a scrapbook of all the things I enjoyed and accomplished during my lifetime. Ooops, sidetracked!

The photos were taken about 8 years ago when I had a much older camera so dark and fuzzy they are. (Sorry for the mix in sintax.  I recently re-watched Starwars and I've been a little yoda lately! lol)
I ended up tearing the paper to the right of the bottom photo when I was nearly done with the page so I put it aside for a while until my fustration subsided andwent looking for something to cover it with. I cut out some waves but they looked out of place. Then I thought about a recipe card embellishment and wrioe a little something on it. That worked fine to hide my booboo.

Finally this little whale from Create A Critter Cricut cartridge. I layered it up and added some glitter to the splash.  All in all, I think it came together nicely. Boy! What a difference in the quality of the photos these days. I think the digital photos make scrapbooking so much easier. I really had to work to make this page presentable and even then, I struggle with it since it can't compare to the pages of photos I've recently taken this year. Ugggh!

I hope your having a fantastic weekend so far and I hope you take the time for yourself and make something beautiful!

Card Making Monday # 21 - Thanksgiving Leaves

Welcome to another Card Making Monday! I can hardly believe 2013 is almost over and the holidays are upon us! You can find a tutorial on how to use reverse masking on your project here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
I saw a similar card tutorial months ago(sorry I don't remember where I saw it) using this technique. So I thought I would do my own card just in time for Thanksgiving. It's a clean and simple card. I inked the center rectangle using masking and my brayer. I also sprayed the rectangle with some gold shimmer mist which unfortunately doesn't show at all in the picture. i used all Colorbox inks for the leaves and the boxed areas. i always use Bazill cardstock. I just love the weight of it and the clean cuts I get in the Cricut.

Thanks again for visiting, please feel free to leave a comment and have a great week!  Don't forget, enjoy making something beautiful of your own.

613 Ave. Create DT Card-Holiday Thanks

Hello and Welcome! I am so excited to announce that I was asked to join the 613 Avenue Create Design TeamOur challenge is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Optional Twist this week is Holiday Thanks!  This week we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.  My sample inspiration for anyone who chooses to play along with Anything Goes is this Christmas card below that has a clean and simple design but much for the eyes.
I wanted to add lots of texture to this card so I included some distressing of the outer circle and some stitching with my sewing machine on the right side kraft strip.

I used a My Favorite Things sketch  for inspiration
Here's a close up of the colored image and some embellishments. I also added some dimension to the hemp cord with dipping the ends of the loops in VersaMark and then in gold embossing powder. I think it gives this card a sort of old world charm in keeping with the Sepia tone coloring which seems to be my favorite lately :-)

Using My Tools Thursday # 23- Celebrate Your Anniversary

Hello and welcome to another Thursday! Thank you for visiting today and feel free to leave comments on this post. Todays card is using an image I received from a friend. I so wish I had this stam from Lili of the Valley but I'm so greatful that my friend lent me this image a while back.

I kept the layout simple to let the image shine. I could add this card with a wedding gift or give as an Anniversary card.

I edged the image with some melon ink by Colorbox and below are the Copic markers. I used Stella Rose papers by My Minds Eye.

I hope you enjoyed viewing this card and take a minute to leave a comment on this post. Have a great weekend! Don't forget to take a minute and leave a comment. Thanks a bunch!
