Using My Tools Thursday # 29- Mod Podge!

Wow! We are almost there! 96 followers this week. 4 more til all things beautiful draws the blog candy! I can't wait!

Hello all and welcome to Using My Tools Thursday! This week, Mod Podge! oh to use Moid Podge. All those wonderful crafty projects that can be made with it.  For this week I created a canvas. My first one. This was for my Step Daughter. A little something extra for her birthday.

I used only bought embellishments for this project. Usually I cut embellishments from my Cricut but this time I figured I'd take advantage of all the left over stickers and such.

I gave the canvas a base coat of craft paint, them I tore various pieces of patterned paper, made a collage of sorts using the Mod Podge as glue and sealer.
Once all the layers were dry (many, many layers) I added the stickers.

Here's the side view of the canvas.
Although I really like how this came out I don't think I'll be rushing out to make more any time soon. This project was one of those things I always wanted to do but now I can say, "I've been there..done that."

I hope you enjoyed viewing my canvas. Please take a moment to let me know what you think..

OWH sketch #212

 Hi There!
I haven't made an OWH sketch in a while due to my new design team commitments but I had the Presidents Day holiday off and decided to take on their newest sketch. I'm so glad I did.
Here's my card...
I pulled some dp and solid cardstock scraps from my stash and then added the embroidery thread and a 1 1/4 inch circle punch for the orange cardstock to hold the senitment.

This is the sketch
212

I hope you had as much fun viewing my OWH sketch card as I did making it.

Element of Love

Hello and welcome to my blog!
There are so many challenges out there for Love and Valentine's card so I thought I would enter some with this card.
This was the first time I used copic markers on watercolor paper. The paper sucked up the ink way too much. The colors came out so vibrant. Not a fav of this so won't be using it again.
My sentiment started on the front of the card and then finished inside.
I inked the edges of the tag with Tim Holtz distress ink

and here's a close up of the various textiles I used in this card. I added some metal fancy clips and a small wooden clothes pin.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my little love card and come back again for more of my crafty side.
Check out the news about my blog candy below.

Materials:
Lili of the Valley stamp Ride with Me
EKSuccess heart punch
various clips and mini cloths pins
Tim Holtz Tea Distress Stain
brown ribbon
Martha Stewart Tag
Paper My Minds Eye Love Me

Card Making Monday # 29 -Sending Sympathy

Good Morning to all of you! Thank you for stopping by today.
Today is Monday so that means I'm sharing a card with you.
Today's card uses Blind Embossing. That just means that you emboss on a plain cardstock background and keep the card clean and simple. The embossing should appear faint.

Here's my card...
I added a bit of the turquoise (also blind embossed) in hopes of adding some elegance to the card
Here's a closeup of the embossing and senitement
and a closup of how I popped the layers of white up to give it a shadow in hopes of bringing out the emboss a bit.

Using My Tools Thursday # 28 - Summer Congatulations

Welcome back for another Thursday Using My Tools Posting! We are in the midst of another snowstorn and a snowday for the kids so I thought with the not so nice weather here some warmer thoughts were in order. I purchased these Recollections stickers, OH MY!, many moths ago. My sister actually found them first at Michaels on clearance and then I went hunting for them a few weeks later. lol

I used quiling Bee from My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad and bazil cardstock. The sentiment is from Hero Arts
The sketch is from Mojo Monday 3/2007. Mojo Monday Sketches can be found here.

I added a little extra bling on the orange and lime slices. It's such a simple design but it fits so well and the card is so cheery.

Thanks again for visiting. Please leave a comment below letting me know what you think is your favorite part of this card. I hope you come back on Saturday for my Scrapbook Page Saturday posting!
