Card Making Monday # 34 -Hoops

Hello and welcome to my little space on the blogsphere. Today is Monday and that means I get to share with all my firends here @ all things beautiful my latest card creations. I am very happy with this week's selection. It's one of those cards I wish I made more of because they are really so simple but for some reason they are not my go to card. Here it is....

My son is an avid basketball player. He LIVES for basketball. So I grabbed my Sport's Mania Cricut Cartridge and whipped this up. My goodness, I really should use my cricut more for shaped cards. It took me about 15 minutes to make this card and I just loved the texture and unique shape.
I added some embossing for the stamped part of the sentiment and cut the rest of the sentiment from the cricut cartridge.
Well, for those of you who have a cuttinf machine I hope this inspires you to use it more...

Thank you to my followers for always checking out my latest creation and if your visiting please consider following me. If you become a follower I'll send you a shout out on this weeks Feature Friday post and link your blog so others can visit you too. Oh and how could I forget--you'll be entered in my BLOG CANDY drawing. Check it out here!
( Unfortunately, there are some who have not posted in the comments or sent me the link to their blog in an email. I will not be hunting for your blog so if you don't post your blog address I won't be able to link it up)

Come back tomorrow for my next DT project for Tip Top Tuesday...and don't forget to go make something beautiful!

Crafting Cafe-Let There Be Spring

Good Morning Bloggers!
Over at The Crafting Cafe it's time for this month's challenge: CAS (Clean and Simple)

I chose the daffoldil image by LEJ Designs
It's very hard for me to make CAS cards! For some reason I just keep embellishing. It might be the huge stash well...everywhere! ;-)

Anyhoo, Here's my card creation...
For the clean and simple style I kept no frills for the ribbon. I did emboss the cardstock background but no Designer Patterned paper for this card and added just 3 gems instead of lots of bling.
I doubled the image and popped up one to give it some demension. You can find the tutorial for 3D piecing here and many more tutorials tutorial tab here.

We would love to have you take on the challenge and show us your crafty creation!
The challenge runs until to the end of March so hurry, hurry! That's tomorrow!

Open Minded - Mustache Gang

Welcome! I'm so glad your here to check out another Design Team creation for the Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenge Blog. I'm so thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase a fun digi image by Scribble Designs call Movember Boys.  Our challenge this time is Animal Antics.

Here's my card...I chose to make a joy fold card. You can find a tutorial on how to make a Joy Fold card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
I added some stitching for texture and pulled in the star pattern on the paper by adding a metal star clip. I used the rick rack ribbon to tie the card closed.
I just thought the froggy was so cute I wanted him to stand out and highlight the neon green in the designer paper as well.

To pull it all together, I added a die cut mustache to the inside of the card.  I covered the mustache with flocking powder for an added touch.

I hope you are inspired by my creation and join in our challenge. Don't forget to go back and link your project and don't forget to check out the other wonderful design team submissions for this challenge. Now it's your turn...go make something beautiful...

Scrapbook Saturday # 29 -The Grill Guy

Hi There! Welcome bloggers and visitors! Today is my birthday, I'm 42...did I say that out loud?!
Well, onto today's post.  This is a fun page using some left over photos from a few events of my husband doing his cook duty on the grill.

I used the checked patterned paper to mimic the pattern on a tablecloth and then added the grill accessories and food. The patterned paper is from The Guy Stack from DCWV.

OI used lots of cut files on this page mainly cut using my Sure Cuts Alot program and SVGS I've downloaded from SVGCuts.com

TTT- Faux Metal Peacock Easel Card

Greetings fellow crafters and welcome to another Tip Top Tuesday Challenge. For this challenge we are using metal or Faux metal.  So there is such a story to tell about this card....4 weeks of trying to figure out how I was going to make faux metal.

I love challenges and well...this WAS quite a challenge! Once I was inspired by the peacock image by Too Cute for Jessica I was then in a conumdrum about how to put it into a format for a card. Weeks and weeks of picking up that peacock and gettng nowhere and then putting it down on the craft table and walking away from it for a few days. This went on and on and on.....

So for better or worse here is my faux metal card creation...
You can find a tutorial on how to make around easel card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
I won with the card

3/26/2014

This is my first Easel Card! I chose to make a round one. So lots of firsts for this challenge! You can find a tutorial to make your own Round Easel card under the Tutorial tab at the top.

i used black gesso and opalite to create the faux metal look. Lots of layers and then ran the body of the peacock through the cuttlebug using Swiss Dots embossing folder. I printed out the peacock patterned cardstock by finding a picture from Google.  I copied, pasted, sized and printed.
Here's a side view of the card.

I used my cricut for most if not all the peices on the card.See the product list below. I hope you enjoyed veiwing my card and are inspired not only to try some fauz metal techniques yourself but also to join in our challenge. You can find the Tip Top Tuesday challenge here.

Open Minded Baseball Birthday Wish

Welcome! I'm so glad your here to check out my newest Design Team creation for the Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenge Blog. I'm so thrilled to have the opportunity to craft with a fabulous digital stamp byDigi Darla. Our challenge this time is to use some buttons.

This is my take on the challenge...
I used some of my Cricut cartridges for the baseball theme elements. I distressed the pattern paper and used some faux stitching. The image had an old fashion feel so I chose to color it in sepia tones and just keep the embellishments in nuetrals as well.
Here's a closeup of my layers.
and here's a closeup of the digi image by Digi Darla

Although this card uses faux stitching you can find tips and strategies on how to add stitching to your cards here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
