Scrapbook Saturday # 34 - Live Free or Die

Hi There! Welcome friends to this weeks Scrapbook Saturday post. Oh my, this layout is bittersweet. Ok, for me brings back nightmares. I only had 2 photos of this portion of last years vaction and that's ok because the focus is on the journaling. I added close up of the journalling blocks so you can see what I'm talking about. I won't drone on here but it was a sigh of relief to get OUT of those kayaks!

As for the scrapbook page, I chose to make it very simple. My friend had a nice tree stamp made by Stampin' Up that she so kindly let me use for this layout. I then added the embellishements and viola! It's done!

Products:
Bazzill Cardstock
Font using SCAL
Stampin' Up tree stamp
Just Because Cards Cricut Cartridge

So here's the story!

Crafting Cafe-Creatures Big and Small

Good Morning Bloggers!
Over at The Crafting Cafe it's time for this month's challenge: Creatures

I chose the fish image by Oak Pond. It's such a sweet image with lots of potential to embellish! I used a 3D piecing tutorial for this technique. You can find the tutorial here and many more tutorials tutorial tab here.

 Here's my card creation...

I used non-traditional colors and a sketch from Mojo Monday. I layered and popped up the fish body to add some dimension. This card is going to Operation Write Home so there's no glitter.
If you want to learn more about OWH you can click the badge on the right sidebar.

I added some glossy accents to the bubble just for interest and these are the Copic markers I used to color with:

We would love to have you take on the challenge and show us your crafty creation!
The challenge runs until to the end of March so hurry, hurry! That's tomorrow!

Write Home Wednesday #4-So Much Love

Hi There!
This week's OWH cards  are "I Love You" cards. I packed up a flat rate box of cards this past weekend and noticed I was a bit short on Love You themed cards so I set out to use the past couple of sketches and add I Love You sentiments for these cards to fill the box. Yeah! I'm getting closer to my goal of 150 cards!

Here's my cards for this weeks Write Home Wednesday. The papers for both these cards came from MME 6x6 paper pad Dolled Up. I typically use Bazzill cardstock with my cards because it's a bit heavier and I can get it at my local Michaels Arts & Crafts or ACMoore store.

I kept the first card a bit simple and stamped my sentiment on one of the banners

Here's the inspiration for this card
226

I used less layers than in the sketch but popped up the middle banner to help the sentiment stand out. My patterned paper was a plain enough patterned that it doesn't distract form the sentiment.

For my second card I used Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge for the flowers and Lacy Labels for the butterflies.
I added some gems to the centers of all the embellishments for some dimension.

Here's the inspirations sketch

That's it for today! If you have any questions about the products or techniques I've used on these cards please feel free to send me an email using the contact form on the right.

613 Create- Keiko City Girl Tag

Welcome to my little space on the blog sphere. I'm so happy your visiting today! The post for today is featuring a fabulous image by Lacy Sunshine called Keiko City Girl.  Over at the 613 Avenue Create Challenge Blog the theme is.  This weeks challenge is to use something metal on your project.

Here's mine:

I cut a tag from the patterned paper by tracing a plain Martha Stewart tag onto the back of the patterned paper and then just bordered it with the card stock. I added some pearl pen to the swirl in the pattern just to add some bling.
The butterflies were leftovers from another project I did a month or so ago. You can see that post here and I accentuated the white flowers on her dress by tracing over the design with a white gel pen.

These are the Copics I used

I hope you enjoyed viewing my design team card and make sure to go back to 613 and link up your anything goes project! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

OWH Memorial Blog Hop 2014

Hello Friends, Bloggers and Hoppers! I'm so glad you're visiting today! Thank you for taking the time to see what I've created for the OWH Memorial Day Bloghop. It's been a blast to participate and see all the fantastic cards.

We were asked to make a card using a patriotic theme but use either a "Missing You, Thank You or I Love You" sentiment. I chose "I Love You" The products I've used are listed at the very bottom of this post. I wanted to make something a little different than a traditional A2 card. This card is still A2 size and has little demension but be nicely displayed when a little kiddo receives it from their loved one.

Here's a side view. You can see a sneak peek at the white liner I added for writing and then there is plenty of room to write on the back too.

You can find a tutorial on how to make an easel card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.

Finally the inside view. I added a few more hearts that were left over from the punch, to the side just to jazz it up a bit.
With matching envelope and using a heart embossing folder too.

I hope you are inspired by my lever card. If you haven't made one yet let me encourage you to do so. You can find a tutorial linked under my Tutorial tab at the top as well as some additional links to more sample lever cards I've made.

now it's your turn to go make somethng beautiful.... and don't forget to hop along and see what others are creating!

Card Making Monday # 38 -Somewhere Easel Card

It's Card Making Monday! Welcome and thank you for visiting! I've been wanting to make an easel card for the longest time. I made one a few months back that was circular but never made another one. (You can find my peacock easel card on my turtorial tab)

Today's card is my second attempt at making an easel card, this time using the standard A2 size shape.
I've recently received some Gina K. Designs stamps and I absolutely adore them.
So for this car,d I chose to use stamps from The Northwoods stamp set by Gina K.
I used Gina K, pure Luxury card stock for the base. What a difference quality cardstock can make! This stuff is really nice.
Here's a side view of the card
If you haven't tried making an easel card you'd be surprised at how simple and quick they are to make. You can find a tutorial on how to make an easel card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
