Tinsel Tuesday # 7 - Merry Christmas Box Card

Hey Friends! I'm so excited to share with you my next Christmas Card and this one is entirely created with an SVG! I love this box card. This little beauty came from a Christmas Box Card set through SVGCuts.com. Once I decided on what papers to use it was very easy to create. I can't wait to make some of the other cards from the kit.

One more Christmas Card down and oh so many to go. Come back in a few weeks and check out my next card creation. I'm making a card in which I pieced together Olaf, the cute little snowman from the Disney movie Frozen.  I'll be linking up a  tutorial for ya so be sure to come back!.

Thanks for checking out my next Christmas Card and have a fabulous day!
Now it's your turn to make a head start on your Christmas cards and make something beautiful!

Scrapbook Saturday # 38 - In Perfect Harmony

I'm so glad your here for another Scrapbook Saturday post. This was the last talent show I was to watch at the elementary school. All my other children have go onto middle and high school so this was bitter sweet. I was so proud of my daughter and her friend for the great job they did performing Bruno Mars, Just the Way You Are but I kept thinking this would be the last time I had to fight with the camera setting to get a good shot in the terrible lighting of the elementary school.

UMT # 41- Sparkle Hello

Welcome to my newest Using My Tools post. So for new friends and visitors Using My Tools posts are crafty creations where I pull something out of my stash that at one time, I thought I just "HAD" to have and finally use it. This time it's acetate. I watched a few titorials on how to make a card using acetate. Hmmm... that was over a year ago and at the time I bought up lots of acetate thinking I was going to make lots of acetate cards. Well, I finally decided to sit down and use that acetate.

Here's my first attempt...

I used a large background stamp and Staz-on ink for the acetate.
I tried to add as much texture as I could. Here's a close up view of the details.
I added various colored gems to the centers for demension and interest.

and...I embossed the sentiment square as well as inked it around the edges.

Products:
Hero Arts Sentiment
Hero Arts background stamp- Daisy Outline
Recollections gems
Hemp cord
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge for the flowers
Cricut Embossing folder - Stitched Squares

Hope you enjoyed my post and come back tomorrow for Feature Friday where I feature works of creativety by my followers. It could be YOU!

Card Making Monday #43 - In the Clouds

Good Morning Ya'll this fine Monday! Welcome to another Card Making Monday. This is my first attempt at acetate cards. WOW! What a time consuming effort to line everything up on the inside to mirror the outside so the adhesive doesn't show. But in the end...I LOVE IT! If you'd like to see the tutorial I used hop on over to my tutorial page. You'll find it there.

I used Lili of the Valley Stamps and a sentiment. That makes 2!
For the image, I used was James bear - Umbrella and the sentiment comes from a boys stamp set (Sorry, can't remember which one it was)

I am very excited to share with you my first acetate card.

I cut the clouds using my Cricut and SCAL program and then layered and embossed them with Cricut Swiss Dots Embossing folder

Here's a close up...I used Staz On Black ink to ink the sentiment on the acetate. I chose the sentiment "Just for You" because it's so versatile. I like to use thissentiment so that I can stamp whatever greeting is needed when the time comes to send a card. It will work for most occasions and you'll have a little stash of cards ready to go.

I flipped the image for the inside of the card by stamping the image first on acetate and then took the acetate and rubbed it onto a piece of white card stock with a brayer.

Here's the Copics I used

I hope you enjoyed viewing today's card Making Monday.

Hello and I hope you are having a Fun Friday. I've been trying to tackle making cards from the cut file sets I've purchased over the years. I could make this card a Using My Tools Thursday post but I thought I'd just share it with you today.

I recently had knee surgery and will be out of work for a few more weeks so I'll try to tackle some of the cards in these kits I purchsed from SVGCuts.com . Here are a few I've already made.

Tinsel Tuesday # 6- Non-traditional Christmas Card

Hi All! Time for another Tinsel Tuesday post. I'll keep this short and sweet. I attempted to make my fist spinner card which by the way is super simple and if I had know it would go together this quick I would not have procrastinated about it for so long! In any case I've seen alot of non-traditional colored Christmas cards online lately and especially one that struck me using kraft and black so I thought why not combine those colors in my spinner card. I hope you like it.

Products Used:
Joys of the Season Cricut Cartridge
Bazzell cardstock
Hemp cord
wood button
Stampin' Up Window Punch
Hero Arts Holiday Sayings sentiment

Creative Encouragement - seaside

Hello and Happy Sunday!
We all have heard about doing an act of kindness for someone else just to brighten our world and even our own day! I happen to stumble across Art Abandonment and thought what a great idea but I don't make works of art although, you could consider my cards small works of art.

So...I jumped right in and put together my first act of  what I call Creative Encouragement. It's my endeavor to leave some cheer for someone to find with an encouraging message written inside one of my handmade cards.

Here's my latest act of random encouragement.
I left it on a rock along the walking path at Colt State Park in RI.

If your a card maker, I hope you join me with leaving a little Creative Encouragement and send me an email with a picture of where you left your card and I'll post your picture to my blog.
I bagged the card in a small ziplock so it would be protected from any weather if I decided to leave it outside. I punch a hole in the top about the ziplock and attached my tags. The tag behind the brown one just  says this is a gift for you, a little blurb and my blog address so they can come back and tell me where they found this card. I also stamped "handmade card"  on the back.

Have a fabulous Sunday and go make something beautiful!

More Crafty Time-More Red, White and Blue

Hello and Happy Friday! Just a quick post today. I've been on medical leave for knee surgery so I've had the luxury of much crafting time. So, today I worked on some challenge cards.

The first is for Mix It Up Monday and Mod Squad.
This stamp is from the Poster Board Sentiments by Gina K
Mix It Up Monday required a color challenge and Mod Squad required us to use some texture. So my texture was to add the embossing, twine and brads.

This one is for Hero Arts Challenge which was a one layer card.
All the stamps on this card are from the Year Round Sentiments set
I don't typically make CAS/one layer cards so this was a real challenge for me.

Hope you enjoyed my post and come back tomorrow for Scrapbook Saturday!

If your visiting please consider following me. When you become a follower I'll send you a shout out on my next Feature Friday post and link your blog so others can visit you too. You'll then be entered in my BLOG CANDY drawing. Check it out here!

Using My Tools Thursday # 40 -Birthday in a Box

Welcome to my newest Using My Tools post. So for new friends and visitors Using My Tools posts are crafty creations where I pull something out of my stash that at one time, I thought I just "HAD" to have and finally use it. This time it's all these various cut outs from Cricut Cartridges that really go neglected. I'm not sure why because I absolutely love the end results of all the projects I create with these cut files.

I''ve made another box card! I know they are all over the crafting world right now but they are so much fun to make and so I could help but make another one. If you have made one just yet make sure to check out the tutorial here and many more tutorials under my tutorial tab here.
So this card went to my neice. I hear that when she opend the envelope and took out the card she was a bit puzzled as how to open it and eventualy gave up and dropped it on the table. Good thing because when she did it opend into the box. lol It's still displayed on her mantle months later. I know for every crafter it's nice to hear our handmade gifts are displayed and appreciated.
Here's a close up of the elements inside.
